Using Eko Clinic App on iOS

Download the Eko Clinic App for iOS

All Eko stethoscopes come with the Essentials features of the Eko App. These features allow you to record, analyze, and securely share data between providers and patients. While it is not required that you use the Eko App, we highly encourage you to use it to get the most out of your Eko device.

Create an Eko Account

To create an Eko Account from a web browser:

  1. Open up the Eko Web Dashboard by clicking here
  2. Click on “Create Account”
  3. Fill out the Sign Up form and click “Create Account.”
  4. Eko will send you a confirmation email after you submit the form. Click on the confirmation link in the email to confirm your Eko Account.

To create an Eko Account from the Eko App:


  1. In the Login screen, click on “Sign Up.”
  2. Confirm you are a healthcare professional.
  3. Enter in your full name, email address and then click “Sign Up.”
  4. Eko will send you a confirmation email after you submit the form. Click on the confirmation link in the email to confirm your Eko Account.

Resetting your Eko account password

From the Eko mobile app, tap 'Forgot password' on the sign in screen and you will be guided to reset your password.

From the Web Dashboard, click on "Forgot your Password" below the Sign In button. 

Eko Support staff can also send you the link to reset your password as long as you supply your username (email address). Contact for more info.

While it is not required to connect your device to the Eko App, we highly encourage you to do so if you want to access the Eko app features such as creating patient files, saving recordings and wireless screening. To connect your CORE to the Eko app:

  1. Download the Eko App
    • For iOS, click here.
    • For Android, click here
  2. Enable your Bluetooth on your selected mobile device. 
    • On iOS devices, go to Settings > Bluetooth > and tap the slider to turn Bluetooth ON. 
    • On Android devices, go to Home screen > tap the Menu key  > Settings > and tap the slider to turn Bluetooth ON.
  3. Open the Eko mobile app and login
    • Create your account if you have not done so already
  4. Turn on your DUO by pressing and holding the center button until you see the lights flash around the ring once
  5. On the app, click “Connect Device”
  6. Select the DUO device on the screen and your device will be paired 


7. Earpieces are optional, if you would like to use them to listen live, connect via the 3.5mm port

8. If Bluetooth pairing is unsuccessful, an error message will appear in the App and no sounds will be recorded. If you are unable to connect the DUO to your mobile device, please visit our troubleshooting section to learn how to resolve any Bluetooth connection issues. 



App Settings Overview 


  1. View your battery life and bluetooth connection signal quality
  2. Adjust the Audio Filter using the slider
  3. Adjust recording length using the slider. The default is set to 15 seconds and can be adjusted up to a maximum of 2 minutes. 
  4. Toggle the Quick Record feature ON or OFF- the quick record feature enables the user to initiate a recording from the device by tapping the action button twice.
  5. Toggle between viewing the PCG Only, ECG Only, or the PCG + ECG by selecting the appropriate button.
  6. Flip ECG
  7. Choose between 50 or 60 Hz for the ECG filter 
  8. Enable Play from Headphone to stream sounds directly to your phone. We recommend having headphones plugged into your phone'
  9. Turn Live Stream ON/OFF. This feature is only for users who have Eko’s Telehealth software. Please click here to learn more. 
  10. Enhanced Security: To password or PIN protect your patient data, toggle the Enhanced Security Feature from OFF to ON. Your Eko account password or PIN will now be required to access patient data.

Change your audio filters

To change the filter settings on your DUO, start by turning on the DUO and pairing with your mobile device on the Eko App. Tap the top left corner to go into your settings. Then use the Audio Filter toggle to choose between your three options. 


The four filter options are:


Set up wireless listening

Wireless listening allows for real-time streaming of stethoscope sounds to Bluetooth-enabled audio devices. This set up helps clinicians adapt to different environments and keep safe from infectious disease.

The following workflow is designed for the Eko DUO Digital Stethoscope + ECG purchased after September 24, 2020

Please note: Make sure your preferred headphones are plugged into or paired with your phone. We recommend using wired headphones for best sound quality but have beta tested with Airpods and got good sound quality with the following devices:

iOS: X, XR, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max 

Step 1: Launch the Eko App and turn on Play from Headphones under the Settings panel of the App. 


Step 2: Plug your preferred headphones into your phone. If you are using bluetooth headphones, connect them to your mobile device. We recommend limiting to only 2 bluetooth devices connected simultaneously to ensure strongest wireless connectivity. 

Step 3: Remove the DUO stethoscope Earpiece by unscrewing it from the base of the DUO. 

Step 4: Turn on the Eko DUO and pair to the Eko App. Once the device is paired to the App, you can put your mobile device in your pocket or hold in your hand during auscultation. 

Step 5 (Optional): Put a glove / cover / stethoscope sleeve of your choice on the Eko DUO so that the entire device is covered. This can be changed between patients and the device can also be cleaned with 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes (do not submerge device in liquid). Note: ECG will not work when the DUO is covered with a protective sleeve.

Step 6: Auscultate with the CORE. You should be hearing sounds through your headphones. Create, Share and Delete patients

Follow these simple steps to securely share a patient and their corresponding recordings from the Eko App.

Create, Share or Delete patients

Create patients:


  1. Log-in to the Eko Mobile App
  2. Click on the top right corner of the Eko App where it says “Patients”
  3. Click on the “Create New Patient” button at the bottom of the screen
  4. Fill out the relevant fields for your new patient. The only thing you need to fill out in order to create a patient is a Patient ID number. 
  5. Click “Done”

Share patients:


  1. Log-in to the Eko Mobile App
  2. Navigate to your patient list by clicking “Patient” on the top right corner
  3. Select a patient 
  4. Once you have a patient selected, click on “Edit”, which is located on the top right corner
  5. Scroll down and select "Share Patient" 
  6. Enter collaborator's email address and click “Done”

Delete patients:


Patients can only be deleted on the Eko mobile app. Note: If you are part of an institution and wish to delete a patient from the app, only the Super Admin for your site can delete patients- please request their assistance. 

  1. Log-in to the Eko Mobile App
  2. Navigate to your patient list by clicking “Patient” on the top right corner
  3. Select a patient 
  4. Once you have a patient selected, click on “Edit”, which is located on the top right corner
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the patient information page and select “Delete Patient.” 
    1. The option to remove a patient appears for members of an institution. When a patient is removed, only the given device will be affected, the patient information will not be removed from the institution dashboard.

Take and save recordings


  1. Initiate a recording once your Eko device is paired with the Eko app by pressing the blue circle at the bottom of the screen. The recording button will turn into a stop button, and a countdown will occur at the top of the screen with the word “Recording” appearing above the countdown timer.
  2. Once the recording is complete, you have the option to playback the recording (selecting the blue “Play” button to the left) or saving the recording to a Patient (green “Assign” button in the middle). The “New” button in the middle will allow you to take a brand new recording. 
  3. When the “Assign” button is selected, you will be cued to enter your PIN to access your saved Patients (if a PIN has been set up). Then you can select from one of the Patients in your list or create a new Patient to save the recording to.

Analyze your recordings with Eko AI Analysis

If your account has access to Eko AI Analysis, you can detect the presence of heart murmurs and atrial fibrillation whenever you take a recording. Your AI analysis results will show up within 5 seconds of completing your recording. 

  1. Launch the Eko App and connect your DUO 
  2. Take a 15 second recording.
  3. After about 5 seconds or so, the AI results will show up at the bottom of your screen. 
  4. Note:For recordings longer than 15 seconds(up to 30 seconds), Eko AI will only analyze the first 15 seconds of data. Ensuring that signal quality is optimal is needed before a recording is initiated in order to return the best analysis results.
