Manage account, app, and device settings on the Eko App

You can use the Menu section of the Eko App to:

  • Connect to an Eko device and view information about it.

  • Update your Eko account settings.

  • Update the Eko App settings.

  • Update the connected Eko device’s settings.

You can also get help in the Help section. Here you’ll find user manuals for Eko devices, online help articles through the Eko Help Center, and a way to contact Eko Customer Support.

To access the menu, tap Menu on the bottom toolbar.

Connect an Eko device

The top section of the Menu screen is where you connect an Eko device. Once an Eko device is connected, this section shows information about it.

You use Bluetooth pairing to connect the Eko device to the Eko App. Here’s how.

Eko account settings

  1. On the bottom toolbar, tap Menu.

  2. Tap the area with your name. The Account Profile screen opens.

  3. To update your name and email, tap Name and Email. The Name and Email screen opens.

  4. Enter your updated information and tap Save.

  5. To update your password, tap Password. The Password screen opens.

  6. Enter your current password and new password and tap Save.

  7. To turn on enhanced security that requires an Eko password or PIN to access patient data, tap the Enhanced Security toggle. The Create Log In PIN section appears.

  8. Tap Create Log In PIN.

  9. Enter your credentials and tap Log In to confirm the setting.

  10. To delete your Eko account, tap Delete Account. Enter your password to confirm.

Recording settings

With these recording settings on the Eko App Menu screen, you can customize how your recordings are taken.

  • The Recording Analysis setting screens for abnormalities for every recording when turned on (default).

  • The Record Automatically setting shows only if you have Recording Analysis turned on. Turn on if you want the recording to begin automatically when a good signal is detected. Turn off if you want to start the recording yourself.

  • In the App Settings section, the Recording Length setting controls the recording length of time. Select from the various options.

Eko App settings

  1. On the bottom toolbar, tap Menu.

  2. Tap App Settings. The App Settings screen opens.

  3. Update the following settings as needed:

Setting

Description

Wireless listening

Select to listen to sounds on your headphones or earbuds that are connected to your mobile device. Adjust your mobile device’s volume if needed.

If there are no headphones connected to the mobile device, then the audio will play through the phone’s speakers.

Tip

Use high-quality headphones for optimal heart sounds as audio may play back poorly on your system speakers.

Volume Boost

Activated when Wireless listening is turned on. Further amplifies the sounds through your headphones. Tap the scale to adjust the level.

Background Connection Time

Set the number of minutes the Eko App remains connected to your Eko device while the app runs in the background.

Omit Patient Information

Select whether or not you want to include sensitive patient information, such as their name, MRN, and DOB, when sharing a report.

Recording Length

Set the maximum amount of time for recordings. You can manually stop the recording at any time.

Eko device settings

This option only appears when an Eko device is connected to the app. These settings only apply to the specific device.

  1. On the bottom toolbar, tap Menu.

  2. Tap Eko device settings.

  3. Update the following settings as needed, depending on the Eko device:

CORE 500™ settings

Setting

Description

Device Name

Enter a custom device name. The name can include up to 12 letters and numbers, but no special characters. The custom device name replaces the default and appears wherever the device name is shown throughout the Eko platform.

Touch to Power On

When turned on (default), you can wake the device from sleep by touching the sensor on the underside of the device face's lip, under the volume button. This setting turns on the sleep mode.

When turned off, the device won't automatically go to sleep and will stay turned on until you manually turn it off. This setting turns off the sleep mode.

Display ECG on Device

When turned on, the ECG waveform is shown on the CORE 500™ device display. When turned off, the ECG waveform isn't shown on the device display and only the BPM appears.

Active Noise Cancellation

Turn on to filter out background noise while listening or recording. (On by default.)

Waveform Display

Select whether you’d like PCG and ECG to be displayed individually or together during recording.

ECG Mains Filter

Switch between 50Hz and 60Hz, so that noise coming from the AC powerline is minimized. The setting will differ depending on which country you are in. 60 Hz is mostly used in North America and Northern South America with household electrical outlets. The UK, Africa, South America, and Australia tend to have household electrical currents of 50Hz.

Device Brightness

Control how bright the screen is on the CORE 500™.

CORE™ settings

Setting

Description

Record from Device

Turn on to allow recordings to be initiated from your CORE by pressing the O button that’s between the volume buttons on the CORE.

DUO™ settings

Turn on to allow recordings to be initiated from your DUO by double tapping the central control button.

Note

The Eko App must be on the Record screen to be able to start a recording from the DUO.

Flip ECG

Turn on to invert the ECG tracing on your screen.
