The Eko App has been redesigned to fit the way clinicians actually work. This update focuses on one goal: helping you stay focused on your patient, not your phone. Recordings and exams are now organized together, background recording is more reliable, and clinicians using Eko+ get clinical results faster than before.
This is a standard app update, not a new download. If auto-update is turned on, you’ll receive it automatically; if it’s off, you can update manually from the App Store or Google Play. Your account, saved patient data, and Eko+ subscription all carry forward.
The update started rolling out to Android users on September 15, 2026, with full availability expected by early October. For iOS users, the rollout begins in mid-October 2026 and will conclude by the end of October.
What's new?
Scope-first recording
Start a recording directly from your stethoscope and keep your phone in your pocket during the exam. Background Bluetooth connectivity is more reliable, so recordings sync to the app whether or not it’s open.
Saved recordings, now for everyone
Saving and playing back multiple recordings is part of the standard Eko App experience — no Eko+ subscription required.
Encounters
Recordings and exams are now unified into a single Encounters view, organized by patient visit. Instead of hunting across separate tabs, you can review everything from a visit in one place.
Faster structural murmur results (Eko+)
Structural murmur results are now available from a 5-second recording instead of 15 seconds — up to 3x faster. This applies to Eko+ subscribers in the United States using a CORE 500, CORE Attachment, or Littmann CORE. AFib detection is unchanged and still requires a 15-second recording on CORE 500.
Tags (Eko+ in the US and eligible countries)
Label encounters with flexible, PHI-free tags so you can find any recording or exam quickly through search.
Link sharing (Eko+)
Share a recording with a colleague or specialist via a direct link, without needing to export a PDF.
PDF reports (Eko+)
Generate downloadable, shareable PDF reports of your recordings.
Your Eko+ membership is getting even better with new features, while the price stays the same at $119.99/year. Existing features like AI analysis, guided exams, patient profiles, PDF reports carry forward seamlessly.
